HDN (Hari Dokter Nasional) – MECO MMSA UMY

In order to support a national doctor’s day on October 24th, 2021, Medical Education Committee (MECO) MMSA UMY brings useful activities to increase our appreciation for doctors in Indonesia who have struggled, especially during this covid-19 pandemic. So the theme of this activity is “The Journey of Becoming a Great Doctor” with 5 activities, namely webinars, donations, educational videos, podcasts, and giving flowers to doctors at the Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta. In conducting the national doctor’s day campaign, MECO MMSA UMY collaborated with medical student associations and organizations at the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, namely HMPD SEMAKU, MARS, and TBM. This collaboration aims to equally give appreciation to doctors even though they come from different organizational backgrounds.

MECO MMSA UMY collaborated with UMY medical student associations and organizations in webinars and donations. webinars and donations will be held on Sunday, October 24th, 2021. The webinar will be held by presenting 2 speakers. Where the first speaker was delivered by dr. Denny Anggoro Prakoso, M.Sc., FISPH., FISCM with the title “Choose Your Best Path As a Doctor” and the second speaker was delivered by dr. Oryzati Hilman, M.Sc., CMFM, Ph.D., Sp.DLP., Sp.KKLP with the title “Answering The Medstud Concern: How I Get Into Residency?”.  This webinar was attended by 96 participants. Donations were given to 70 people in need in Yogyakarta. MECO MMSA UMY has also made an educational video as a form of appreciation to doctors in Indonesia which was uploaded through MMSA UMY’s Instagram and has been seen by 200 viewers. The podcast uploaded via spotify MMSA UMY talked about the Covid-19 vaccination in Indonesia with Dr. Yudhi Sulistya Nugraha as the speaker. Giving flowers to 20 doctors at UMY is also part of the National Doctor’s Day campaign.

National Doctor’s Day which is celebrated every October 24th is a useful activity to increase our awareness to appreciate the services that have been given by doctors so far. In addition, this campaign also aims to encourage medical students to continue to be enthusiastic in pursuing their education.
